Venice Glass Week

 

From 10th until 17th September 2017
The Venice Glass Week is the first international festival dedicated to the art of glassmaking in Italy and internationally. The first edition will take place from 10 to 17 September, 2017 and will include exhibitions, conferences, seminars, screenings and furnace open-days.
The project is promoted by LE STANZE DEL VETRO, Fondazione MUVE, Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.
Also InMurano will be part of the festival, in collaboration with Murano Glass Museum. Every night, from 17 to 19, the Museum will host cultural aperitifs to meet artist and local glass-masters and to find out more about glass culture.

Vittorio Costantini

Vittorio Costantini, successful and credited glass-master, invited in the most prestigious glass-schools around the world. Vittorio always had an innate fascination for the nature; he spends endless hours creating each single piece, such as multi-colored insects, iridescent butterflies, birds, fishes, colorful flowers, etc. all the result of his incredible manual skills.
We will talk about his life, his works and his art.

Dino Martens

Important artist and innovative glass designer during the 1900. Dino Martens had a problematic and impulsive attitude, which led him to many excesses and dramatic behaviors during his life; he was as much brilliant as he was complicated.
We will talk about his life and his art by visiting the temporary exhibition about his work.

Murano Oggi

A night dedicated to local contemporary glass-masters, between tradition and innovation. A tour in the history of glass guided by who works glass on a daily basis, a path to know better the past, but most of all to better understand contemporary local glass-working environment.
